Project Overview

TB-project supported the Hong Kong market development of oxygen capsules and boxes manufactured by Time World Co., Ltd., Japan’s leading manufacturer in this field.

The project began with direct sales to individual customers in Hong Kong. Working closely with the manufacturer’s vice president, TB-project then supported the development and establishment of a local distributor capable of handling ongoing sales and installation.

Challenge

After several units had been sold in Hong Kong, we received a request from Time World’s Vice President:
“Could you help us find a local distributor so we can continue selling in Hong Kong?”

Building a local distributor network required more than simply finding a sales partner. We also needed to identify a reliable local partner, coordinate closely with the manufacturer, establish systems for shipping and installation of large equipment, and help train local technicians so that sales and after-sales support could continue locally.

The challenge was not simply to find a distributor, but to build a local structure capable of supporting ongoing sales, installation, and after-sales service.

What We Did

  • Supported sales to prospective customers in Hong Kong

  • Identified and selected potential distributors through local networks

  • Worked with the manufacturer’s vice president on Hong Kong market development

  • Supported communication between the manufacturer and distributor candidates

  • Assisted with translation and explanation of product, technical, and sales materials

  • Arranged shipping from Japan to Hong Kong

  • Supported delivery, installation, and maintenance at customer sites

  • Supported the training and development of Hong Kong-based technicians

Result

In 2024, the Hong Kong company we had been supporting opened a showroom in Wan Chai.

What began as individual customer sales developed into a local sales structure centered around an authorized distributor.

Today, the distributor and manufacturer work directly with each other, while TB-project continues to provide support when needed.

Why TB-project

One of the key strengths in this project was our ability to use the local network of our Hong Kong-born President to develop customer relationships and identify potential distributor partners from the ground up.

Our experience in film and event production — particularly in logistics, loading and unloading, and on-site coordination — also proved valuable when handling the transportation and installation of large equipment.

In addition, our Director’s previous experience in product promotion and dealer support at a Japanese manufacturer helped with organizing sales and explanatory materials, as well as supporting communication between the manufacturer and the Hong Kong side.

What began with support for individual sales ultimately led to the establishment of a local distributor.
This was the most significant achievement of the project.
